Cyber Citizen has been selected as a finalist in the European Digital Skills Awards 2026. The project is among the five finalists in the Cybersecurity Skills category, which recognises European initiatives that strengthen cybersecurity skills.

The European Digital Skills Awards highlight projects and initiatives that promote digital skills across Europe. This year, the competition received a total of 220 applications.

The Cybersecurity Skills category focuses on initiatives that help citizens and small and medium-sized enterprises develop their cybersecurity competence. This is also at the heart of Cyber Citizen’s work: making cybersecurity part of everyday life and helping people understand and apply it in practice.

Being selected as a finalist is an important recognition of the work carried out within the initiative

We are delighted and proud to be named a finalist. It shows that strengthening everyday cybersecurity skills matters not only in Finland, but across Europe.

The European Digital Skills Awards 2026 recognise excellence in five categories: Digital Upskilling @ Work, Digital Skills for Education, Inclusion in the Digital World, Women in ICT Careers, and Cybersecurity Skills. The awards support Europe’s digital transformation and the objectives of the Digital Decade.
